Cultivating Place - 2017 Harvest Festival

October 30, 2017 by towersideadmin

Harvest Festival is a fall evening gathering of community to share food, music, art, laughter, conversation and ideas. It takes place on the land immediately south of United Crushers grain elevators and is an event that showcases the value, importance, the unique potential of this site to become a signature green gathering place for the neighborhood.

The event featured performances by Argos (Abdulkadir Said), Dan Turpening, and the Kalpulli Yaocenoxtli Mexica Azteca Dance Group. Wood-fired pizza was made from the community garden. Residents and neighbors enjoyed a bonfire, hot apple cider, face painting, art activities & games. In addition, PP2020 led a community visioning process for a new neighborhood green space on the site.
